Machete painting

So last month I got the chance to paint a machete blade for the "Killer Art Show" in Orlando at Steadfast Brand's store. It was a fun challenge painting on the narrow metal blade. I didn't really get any good pics but I believe they have it up on the Steadfast brand online store with better pics and for sale !! only $150 !! I also included a little one shot elephant piece I did months back.

North Carolina

So it's been awhile since I've last updated. Back in September I had PRK laser eye surgery done, which was a success. Had to take some time off to recover and heal up. Strange waking up and being able to see naturally without the need off prescription lenses. Really awesome. Then I donated 14inches of hair to the Locks of Love. I also went up to Asheville, North Carolina and did some more climbing, hiking in the woods, and visiting with friends. It was a very pleasant getaway over the Halloween weekend. Always good to get some fresh mountain air.

Geisha Sleeve

Another sleeve I recently photographed. Started this Geisha and Buddhist statue piece about a year ago.

Heart/Tree - Monster Arm in the Sea

For this first piece the client requested a heart which has been cut with both living and dying limbs of a tree. I thoroughly enjoyed this piece. The next design was inspired by an artist named Eric Jones. His concept was the huge hand holding the ship out of the sea for a band actually. A memorial piece, the band was a favorite between the client and a close friend which has passed. We will be adding more to the inside of his arm soon.

Poseidon and Dragon Tattoos

I've been super busy with new projects and coming close to finishing a few these last several weeks. I also recently went out to Yosemite National Park in Cali and did some major hiking and rock climbing. It was simply amazing and uplifting. I'm still editing the pics and waiting for more from the others. I will certainly post them asap. In the mean time here's a couple of pieces I started about a year ago. Finally finished and finally photographed. Hope you enjoy!

Niagara Fury !

Besides staying in Toronto, Stefan and I also hit up Niagara Falls for some tourist action. I took a few pics. The wind was blowing a bit so the mist of the natural falls made it hard to capture. Then we took a stroll up the street and walked into a couple haunted houses, Ripley's Believe It or Not!, and grabbed some ice cream. It was overall just a beautiful day.

2010 NIX Tattoo Convention

So this past weekend my friend Stefan Meisse and I traveled up to Toronto for the NIX tattoo convention. We had a great time making new friends , tattoos, and seeing some familiar faces. This was my second year attending and I must say that I had just as much this year as I did last year. Within the first two hours of being there I even lost my phone. Lucky for me I was able to get it back thankfully because of friends and a genuinely nice limo driver. That was just a little bump in the road. I also painted a skateboard for NIX's "Highway to Hell" Art Show. They auctioned it off for the "Skate 4 Cancer" foundation. I'm super proud to say that my board raised $5000 for the charity. Awesome ! Now here's a couple tattoos I made on Friday and Saturday of the convention. Not the best pics, but hopefully I get some better ones next year. Cheers to Canada and possibly doing a S Africa convention at the beginning of the year.

Space scene and flowers

Here's a couple of tattoos I finally got to photograph. The space scene will actually be a full half sleeve soon. We are going to add more on the inside. Possibly a space telescope or satellite. The magnolia flowers are on my friend Samantha, she requested them in black and gray.

More skull paintings

This first painting I did using oils. It's only my second finished oil painting, I truly enjoyed working on this piece. First because of the challenge and second because I learned how to move and play with the paint during these sessions with this piece of canvas. I've started some new pieces which I will post progress pics soon. Keep checking back. The next piece I did was done with watercolors and prismamarkers. Fun little tattoo styled piece. cheers !

New Convention Banner

I worked on a new banner for the Tried and True Expo. I spent more time than I had imagined, but loved doing it, especially for it being of such a large scale. I rarely paint at this size, perhaps I'll start. I have this hanging at home so I can actually put a few more hours into it before the next convention, which is in Toronto next month. Again lots of fun to do.

2nd Annual Tried and True Tattoo Expo

So this past weekend I had a great time at the Orlando show. It's held in a super nice hotel,The Rosen Centre, with a list of top artist from around the states. Getting this many people in one room is always impressive and inspirational. Good times, good times indeed. And as usual I left the convention satisfied and excited that I was able to meet new people and spend time with old friends. I worked on some cool "in progress tattoos" which should be all finished within the next several months. I'll keep ya posted. Here's a few pics of our booth. Enjoy !

Gypsy tattoo

Finally got a sweet healed photo of this piece I did several months back. Thanks Heather !!

Holy Cheesesteaks !

So this past month Greu and I drove up to Philly to attend the convention. We had a sweet 17hr drive, lots of energy drinks and heavy metal ! The first day we arrived we decided to walk down to chinatown and then take a bus up to new york and venture around. I brought some artwork , prints, and sketchbooks to sell for the show. Thank you to all who bought some artwork we greatly appreciated it. We had the chance to see some familiar faces and make some new friends from Tough Luck tattoos in Delaware(super rad dudes). So, once again I had a great time that weekend and will surely attend next year. Road trippin !!

There has been a lot going on in these last several months, between holidays, family, moving into a new house, etc. Loads of life changes. I'm currently without an internet connection at my home, but this week that will all get hooked up. Some pics for the portfolio, future t-shirt designs, and some everyday nonsense to show off. I will be getting all of this stuff together soon, my deadline being the end of next month. Greu and I will be attending the Philly Tattoo Arts Convention next month and I'd like to have a fresh portfolio, biz cards, stickers, t-shirts, and prints to show off. Lots to do in the next several weeks. Time to get my ass into gear. Climb on !

Friday, January 1, 2010

So I've neglected this blog for a little bit. With all the holiday madness it's hard enough to keep your head on straight. This past December I went to Virginia for a friend's wedding. We all had an awesome time, great company. Christmas was also time well spent with friends, family, and delicous food. I hope everyone enjoyed themselves. Here's a picture of a dragon I finished a while back, but finally had the chance to get a pic. We covered a little lower back tribal piece, he was happy about that being gone !
